Camp Whatever 2011 Shirts

Here are my favorites from the five designed shirts for Camp Whatever 2011. I designed three and Canaan Chapman designed the other two.

This is the shirt everyone got at the end of the week, designed by yours truly. Be the change, derived from the camp theme “#thechange.”

I also designed this shirt, which was later referred to as the Gatorade shirt.

Check out the other shirts on my flickr account.

Create 3D-Style Selectable Text Using CSS

While searching around on Dribbble the other day I stumbled on Mark Otto’s page. Mark is a user-interface designer for Twitter, and claims the twitter name @mdo.

I was attracted to one of Mark’s shots titled 3D Text with just CSS.

The Lobster Font

While  looking around on Dribbble I stumbled upon a shot by Blankenship. He commented that he was trying to make Lobster sing. He linked Lobster to Impallari, a free font website started by a php programming typography lover.

It has many of great ligatures and alternates.

My buddies Kyle and Brett participated in a 48-hour film contest in Nashville. They won the award for Best Western. It’s beautifully shot. Give it a watch.

Dribbble

When I find myself in a design funk and in need of inspiration, I turn to Dribbble.

Every week or so I visit Dribbble and drool over the elegant designs from the best designers. The way Dribbble works is different from other social media outlets. There is no registration for the design website, it’s invite only. So, if like me, you are one a decent designer wishing to actually own an account you actually can’t contribute to the community. But, like twitter there is a restriction. You can only upload images 400×300 pixels (120,000 pixels) or less.

You can only admire.

I recommend finding a lovely design and then following the trail to the designer’s personal blog and twitter.

American Soccer

I love this video from @nikesoccer. It builds on the energy for American soccer created from the 2010 World Cup.

The line, “Your tradition has no match for my ambition,” is absolutely inspiring. American soccer will one day reign.
