September 28 Hoodisms

Some of Pat’s sayings from this Sunday’s message on Discipleship.

  • “To follow is to fish.” -in reference to Mark 1:17
  • “Tax collectors repulsed people almost as much as Howard Stern does today.”
  • “The disciples of Rabbis did not have planes, trains, and automobiles like we do today.”
  • “Jesus didn’t have a plan B”
  • “Here’s the deal.”

If you didn’t notice anything different. Here’s a hint.

So what do you think?

Aerial Experience

I just got a weird email about something called Aerial Experience Productions.

What in the world in that?

History of FBCSmyrna.org

I was reading Mark Batterson’s blog and was reminded about an interesting website, WayBack Machine. It’s a site that allows you to search and view the history of a website. So I searched for FBCSmyrna. Here are my findings:

Today’s site

Today’s site

We have come a long way since 2001, in our web presence and as a church.

Sully

Are you kidding me!

I follow ESPN.com on my twitter account. I received a tweet from them this morning.

Read the story.

And it begins

Today we had our live Fantasy Football Draft. Every male (14) on staff at the church is in the league.

Here’s the team:

QB Drew Brees
RB Willie Parker
RB Earnest Graham
RB/WR Donald Driver
WR Wes Welker
WR Laveranues Coles
TE Todd Heap
D/ST Raiders D/ST
K Rob Bironas

BE Chester Taylor
BE Ronald Curry
BE Marc Bulger
BE Bobby Engram
BE L.J. Smith
BE Darren Sproles
BE Limas Sweed
BE Earl Bennett

I had the 13th pick, and as you can see it’s pretty thin.

Who’s on your team?

Google Chrome

As if Google hasn’t done enough. They are releasing a new browser, Google Chrome. The link doesn’t even work yet, but as of Tuesday morning it should be ready to go. Read about the new browser.

Currently through Google you can: (list a mile long), and now you can browse the interweb in their very own browser.

What’s next for Google? World Domination. David Cox thinks so.

Root Beer Floats

Today I was able to meet Kristi’s newest class, and bring them a tasty treat.

I am a pretty big deal when it comes to making Root Beer Floats. I have actually changed perceptions about Root Beer Floats when others try mine.

So to help teach the students about the color brown, I brought all 19 of them a float. Kristi borrowed the idea from Mrs Larue, the teacher I was the ice cream man for her birthday. Mrs Larue uses grape drink and ice cream to help teach the color purple.

Sorry there are no images or video; parents don’t really like it when their kids can be found online.

I had a great time serving them and watching them dance.

Ubiquity

Yesterday I heard about this cool plug-in for Firefox called Ubiquity. The video below helps to explain.
